This 5-week series is for parents and caregivers just like you to learn, share, and feel supported. Build your confidence, find your voice, and help your child thrive.

September 16: Understanding Disability and Strength-based Visioning
September 23: Natural Environments, Least Restrictive Environment, and Inclusive Practices (Kevin Anderson, MECP)
September 30: Early Intervention and Early Childhood Special Education
October 7: All About Transitions: From EI to ECSE and on to Kindergarten
October 14: Making Your Voice Heard with LICCs and SICC (Mandy Stanley and Lois Pribble, ODE)

Language services: Sessions are provided in English and Spanish and/or in English with Spanish interpretation. Please request other language support at least 14 days before the event. We will do our best to accommodate.

The Collaborative Problem Solving approach is an evidence-based method to managing challenging behavior that promotes the understanding that challenging kids lack the skill – not the will-
to behave; specifically, skills related to problem-solving, flexibility and frustration tolerance.
Unlike traditional models of discipline, the CPS approach avoids the use of power, control and motivational procedures and instead focuses on collaborating with the child/youth/young adult to solve the problems leading to challenging behavior and building the skills they need to succeed.
For ages Pre-K and above.
Classes are free and are held virtually. The classes are for two hours, once per week for 6 weeks. There are two classes, one on Tuesday mornings and one on Tuesday evenings.
